Comedian Mark Dice asks people to sign a mandatory euthanasia petition for Seniors, loosely citing the related provision in ObamaCare. Look how many, especially young people, are willing to sign it. It might seem a bit humorous now, to some, but as the reality that is now dawning on more and more people, even former DNC Chair Howard Dean, who excoriated those who realized this provision was in there all along, is now voicing his concern. As reality is sets in… It won’t be funny!!
And to those young people who signed this petition… you will some day also be old, or it could be your parents, grandparents or mentor. As anyone knows who ever studied history or lived in a system where euthanasia is acceptable…
First it will be the seniors with chronic illnesses…
Then it will anyone over a certain age…
Then it will be the special needs and handicapped people
And then it will anyone who stands up or speaks out against the system!!

Former governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is blasting HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for becoming a one-woman death panel. Sebelius is denying a young girl a lifesaving lung transplant — forcing the girl’s family to look to the courts for help.
Palin blasted Sebelius on Twitter and Facebook.
In her Facebook post, Palin said recalled how much criticism she received for decrying “death panels” in Obamacare:
The government will bend the rules left and right to harass targeted taxpayers, conservative patriots, selected journalists, etc., but it will strictly exercise inconsistent and subjective rules to deny a child a shot at life. And they called us liars when we spoke of “death panels” – faceless bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor to make life and death decisions about a loved one’s survival. It doesn’t sound so far fetched anymore, does it?
A federal judge has intervened to give hope to a young girl who needs a lung transplant as doctors have only given her weeks to live. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius received national condemnation after she refused to get involved to help the girl.
Sarah Murnaghan has been hospitalized for three months with end-stage cystic fibrosis. She is not giving up hope. She wants to be a singer, but needs a lung transplant to live. Her parents have been with her constantly while she waits at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Sarah’s parents asked a federal judge to intervene and order the Obama administration to alter longstanding organ-donation rules so she can get the lung transplant she desperately needs. A report shows the judge has given them hope that she can be put on the adult list.
*Unfortunately because of the delays the dying girl's condition worsens as she awaits lung transplant

The IRS, Obamacare and Abuse of Political Power: An Issue

There are new controversies surrounding Obamacare now that the IRS is mired in a political scandal. These emerging issues surround federal government control of medical/healthcare rights/information and the abuse of political power. The Wall Street Journal had an interesting insight into the problem (unfortunately the WSJ article has been pulled since this was written):
Even as the politicized tax enforcement scandal expands, the Internal Revenue Service continues to expand its political powers thanks to the Affordable Care Act. A larger government always creates more openings for abuse, as Americans will learn when the IRS starts auditing their health care in addition to their 1040 next year.
Over the last decade or so the tax agency has stretched its portfolio and become an enforcer and decision-maker for government benefits and programs. Three years ago, National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson, who operates within the IRS, presciently noted that ObamaCare is “the most extensive social benefit program the IRS has been asked to implement in recent history.
This March the IRS Inspector General reiterated that ObamaCare’s 47 major changes to the revenue code “represent the largest set of tax law changes the IRS has had to implement in more than 20 years.” Thus the IRS is playing Thelma to the Health and Human Service Department’s Louise. The tax agency has requested funding for 1,954 full-time equivalent employees for its Affordable Care Act office in 2014.
These are issues that need to be vigorously debated. If a Presidential Administration can use the power of the IRS to harass and malign its political opponents, then what does the IRS and HHS having life and death rights over these same political opponents mean?
What if you object to the government’s handling of a controversy and the first issue asked is not “how is your health” but “do you belong to the right political party?” This is how life was in the Soviet Union and still is in totalitarian/oligarchical nations. Think this is a hysterical approach? Ask the people harassed by the IRS because they belong to conservative political groups or to pro-Israel groups that didn’t follow in-lock-step with the President’s view of the Middle East, or taught about the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights (it seems under these criteria my entire family is up the creek without a paddle) and then tell me it can’t happen here.
Furthermore, an additional aspect of the controversy appeared yesterday. Apparently the IRS gave private tax information of conservatives to politically left-leaning groups during the Presidential campaign. The powers that be continually tell us that under Obamacare our health documents would be sacrosanct. After the recent revelations about IRS conduct, it is apparent that the inherent potential for abuse dangerously exists.

War On: Obama and ObamaCare verses Constitutional Patriots and Religious Freedom
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibelius answered questions in Congress this week about the left framed ‘contraception compromise’ or the ‘first amendment un-compromise’ as framed by the right.
Sibelius essentially said that the decision has been made and this mandate along with many other surprises for those who did not follow the ObamaCare fight on in August 2013… PERIOD! The decision has been made and will go into affect regardless of the Constitution, religious freedom or what the American people want.
Remember what Nancy Pelosi said… “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in the bill!” Well, you are beginning to find out.
So why is this so important to progressives? Rush Limbaugh keeps saying that "abortion is the sacrament of liberalism." What makes this so? Let's ask Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, In her book "Women and the New Race", Sanger explains the purpose of birth control:(Page 229)
Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives. So, in compliance with nature’s working plan, we must permit womanhood its full development before we can expect of it efficient motherhood. If we are to make racial progress, this development of womanhood must precede motherhood in every individual woman. Then and then only can the mother cease to be an incubator and be a mother indeed. Then only can she transmit to her sons and daughters the qualities which make strong individuals and, collectively, a strong race.
Now it should all start making sense to everyone. Birth control is the sacrament of eugenics, which also explains Ultra Left Wing HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ Spin, based on her ideology and history. She was an ardent supporter of murdered partial birth abortionist, Tiller and her extreme record on abortion has sadly been ignored (or hidden) by the media.
America just celebrated 54 million abortions, a ‘choice’ everyone in the Obama administration supports. On the other side, the Priests for Life Group Just Sued the U.S. Government over the Birth Control Mandate. Sebelius admitted to Senator Orin Hatch during the hearings that she didn't consult bishops over contraception rule and also admitted that she/they did not consult with the Justice Department as to the constitutionality.
President Obama himself said that he had done the same thing when he was a community organizer. He got leftist priests and nuns in Chicago to compromise the values of the church.
The backlash over Sibelius' interpretation of the mandate built to a crescendo last week. Obama went to the podium and announced a "compromise." It was no compromise at all ... In reality, Obama’s contraception mandate tramples religious freedom.
This is not an issue that will go away and may haunt the president through the 2012 Election cycle. It is a huge power grab and the first of many frightening realities of the what is really in the ObamaCare Bill. It should be a flag to all concerned Americans that each us needs to read that bill and insist that our Congressman and Senators read it immediately… and act. It should also be a flag to all Americans about the ideology of the President and his team and what is in our future if Obama survives this and is re-elected.
Socialized Medicine, which ObamaCare is, is he crown jewel of socialism… progressivism. It gives the government the control over one sixth of the U.S. Economy and decisions over who get care and who doesn’t, who lives and who dies, and this fight in addition to being a fight over religious freedom and the first amendment, not contraception, is also a fight over what the government can make each of us buy and pay for from here on out.
One of the best explanations of this fight I’ve heard is:
If you are against murder and someone says, “Okay, you don’t have to kill anyone yourself. We will hire someone to kill them for you.”, there is no resolution to the issue. It goes against your values, against God and against everything you stand for. That is exactly what is happening with the birth control mandate being forced on the Catholic Church by the administration and ObamaCare.
Beck Announces ‘We Are All Catholics Now’ Movement to Stand Up for Religious Freedom
The controversy over the Obama administration’s contraception mandate is at a boiling point, as many Catholic leaders continue to view the president’s so-called “accommodation” as a failure to protect religious liberty.
Now, Glenn Beck is coming forward with a new movement called “We Are All Catholics Now.” The main goal of the initiative is to ask Americans to reach out to Congressional leaders (at the moment, Senators) to encourage the passage of legislation that would protect religious groups’ conscience rights.

The main push, Beck says, is to support the highway transportation bill, which will likely be voted upon this week. It will include an amendment – Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment – from Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) that would protect religious conscience rights. In the House, Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb.) is working on companion legislation, though it may not be voted on for a few weeks.
Beck is encouraging individuals to get involved by calling their Senators and letting them know that “we are all Catholics now.” The issue at hand is not about contraception as it has been framed by many media outlets, he says. Instead, it is a religious freedom issue that hinges upon the separation of church and state’s mandate that the government not force churches to violate their values and principles.
Here are his directions for getting involved and making an impact:

1. Tell them that you want to tell the Senator to vote for the Blunt conscience protection amendment.
2. Ask them if they know how the Senator will vote on that amendment
3. Tell them you want to be contacted back about how he voted (be sure to ask for accountability — they hate it, but it makes them call you back).
4. When you call, be sure to tell them “We are all Catholics now”. This key phrase will let them know you are part of a larger, organized movement working in support of religious freedom.

Governor Palin appeared on On the Record calling this mandate an ‘Un-American Act’
Add this fight to the expected rise in unemployment (even with the job number game) and possible $5 gas prices at the pump… and this might end up being Obama’s Waterloo! Some believe the timing of this fight is an answer to the prayers for intervention being said daily by many Americans.
This is not a fight over contraception and who will pay for it. It is a fight over religious freedom vs. secularism, a fight over the Constitution vs. Progressivism, a fight over limiting the powers of the commerce clause vs. the government being able to force us to purchase and pay for anything they choose, and the fight over the ideology that will control this country. This is not a fight that anyone can afford to sit out.

‘Un-American Act’: Palin Slams Obama’s Contraceptive Mandate as Violating Constitutional Rights
On Tuesday — Valentine’s Day — former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had a not-so-loving message for President Barack Obama. In an interview with FOX News’ Greta Van Susteren, Palin unleashed on the president’s contraceptive mandate, calling his actions against the Catholic Church “un-American.”
Palin uttered this term, which is bold to attach to any U.S. politician — especially a president — two times during her interview with Van Susteren. The former vice-presidential candidate was clear that she sees Obama’s stance on the mandate as morally, Constitutionally and politically unsound.
“Very poor politics that they would choose such a battle,” Palin said. “One — to pick a fight with faith-filled Americans. You know, we will fight…to the death for our freedom of religion and for the rights that are protected by our United States Constitution.”
Following these remarks, she unleashed her “un-American” label not once, but twice:
“This is an un-American act of our president. Anything that would so blatantly violate an amendment within the United States Constitution is un-American and Barack Obama needs to re-think what he has just done to the people of America because we’re rising up on this one. We‘re not going to back off and we’re not going to say ‘Okay, it is alright that such a violation of conscience — such a violation of those things that our founders fought and died for — we’re just going to sit back and let it happen to us.’ Not this time.”

Is this really where you want your medical records stored… on Facebook… the social network that works hand in hand with the government and retains the right to keep any information that you post there… photos, posts, etc, even after you close your account? This is beyond frightening!!

PALO ALTO, California — President Barack Obama said Wednesday that congressional Republicans are pushing a radical plan to trim Medicare and Medicaid, ramping up the rhetoric as he and Congress approach crucial decisions on spending and the nation's debt.
"I think it's fair to say that their vision is radical," Obama told a town hall gathering at the headquarters of Facebook, the huge social network company.
"I don't think it's particularly courageous," he said of the GOP plan to convert Medicare to a voucher program and make big cuts to the federal-state Medicaid program for the poor.
"Nothing is easier than solving a problem on the backs of people who are poor, or people who are powerless, or don't have lobbyists, or don't have clout," Obama said.

Other Democrats have called the GOP plan radical, but the president generally has used less pungent language. Even as he sharply criticized the Republicans' spending
proposals Wednesday, he said he believes the two parties can reach an accord on long-range plans to cut deficits by about $4 trillion over the next decade.
Obama made the comments in a friendly environment — one with 19 million friends, in fact. He told Facebook employees and others watching online the nation must invest vigorously in education, clean energy and research that are vital to future jobs and a strong economy.
Making the case for his own deficit-cutting plans, Obama said that one way to trim health care costs could involve doctors sharing medical information on Facebook, the hugely successful social network.
Obama's 2008 campaign used Facebook and other social networks to reach voters, volunteers and donors, especially among young adults. Such outlets will play even bigger roles in next year's campaigns.
The president shared the stage with Facebook's youthful founder, Mark Zuckerberg, whose company noted that 19 million network users have electronically "liked" Obama's White House Facebook site.
Obama, beginning a three-day Western tour pitching his budget plans and raising re-election cash, said trimming $4 trillion from the nation's deficits over the next 12 years sounds like a lot but can be done.
He will hold another session Thursday in Reno, Nev., with his message that his approach to cutting deficits is more balanced and less painful than a rival House Republican plan.
The president has proposed cutting spending, raising taxes and squeezing federal health care programs. The Republican plan rules out tax cuts and would achieve nearly $6 trillion in savings from spending cuts and overhauling Medicare and Medicaid.

Anyone who is now on Medicare or Social Security, or is 55 or older, will not be affected by any of the upcoming changes proposed by the GOP, including Paul Ryan’s Plan. And if people under 55 want to have some safety net for themselves and generations to come we must make some changes, or they will have nothing! The greatest thing you have to fear that ObamaCare will go into full implementation. That is your nightmare! And unfortunately, it will not happen until after the 2012 Election, just like the inflation and Wall Street are being manipulated, until the day after election, when all our worst nightmares will be unleashed. Do your own homework. Read the ObamaCare Bill that was passed or seek information that is coming from neutral sources… which is not AARP or the mainstream media news coverage. Like Facebook, NBC especially, is practically a subsidiary of the White House. **

Reid Unveils 2,074-Page Health Bill. Do You Think Congress Will Read It?
Harry Reid unveiled his $849 billion health-care bill tonight. It weighs in at 2,074 pages. Keith Hennessey runs through the tax hikes in the bill:
The following is from the Joint Tax Committee estimate of the revenue effects of the Reid bill. I have listed provisions with major revenue effects (+$20 B / 10 years) and a few others that have significant policy or political impacts. There are some smaller changes as well, which you can see for yourself in the 3-page document. All revenue figures are revenues raised over the ten-year period 2010-2019.
1. 40% excise tax on health coverage in excess of $8,500 (individuals) / $23,000 (families). Amounts are indexed for inflation by CPI-U + 1% – begins in 2013 – $149 B tax increase
2. Additional 0.5% Medicare (Hospital Insurance) tax on wages in excess of $200,000 ($250,000 for joint filers) – begins in 2013 – $54 B tax increase
3. Impose annual fee on manufacturers and importers of branded drugs – begins in 2010 – $22 B tax increases
4. Impose annual fee on manufacturers and importers of certain medical devices – begins in 2010 – $19 B tax increase
5. Cut in half (to $500K) the amount of an executive’s compensation that a health plan can deduct from its corporate income taxes – begins in 2013 – $600 million tax increase
6. Impose 5% excise tax on cosmetic surgery and similar procedures – begins for surgery in 2010 – $6 B tax increase!
In total the bill would raise taxes by $370 B over ten years.
Analysis on the tax hikes from Hennessey at the link. Reid has decided to raise the Medicare payroll tax on individuals making more than $106,800; perhaps not the smartest way to boost employment.
The CBO report says the bill would save $127 billion over 10 years--but as Allahpundit notes "$127 billion over 10 years sounds like a lot until you remember that $176 billion was October’s monthly deficit." We still haven't gotten a look at the CBO report to see just how bad the Medicare cuts will be [Update: The CBO (download here) reports Medicare will be cut by $491 billion over 10 years], but tell grandma and grandpa not to worry: Under this bill they'll get $500 in 2010 when Harry Reid just so happens to be up for reelection.
The bill also allows taxpayer-funding for abortions through the public health insurance plan and the health insurance exchanges; the language is similar to the Capps amendment that tried to conceal federal funding of abortion through an accounting gimmick (see here). National Right to Life Committee calls the amendment "completely unacceptable."
Senator Mitch McConnell said in a statement: “This bill has been behind closed doors for weeks. Now, it’s America’s turn, and this will not be a short debate. Higher premiums, tax increases and Medicare cuts to pay for more government—the American people know that is not reform.”

John Boehner: Let America Read the HC Bill – Bill Link Here…
Special-interest deals forged in secret behind closed doors. Massive bills unveiled in the dark of night and rushed to a vote before anyone in America could possibly know the details. Wasteful pork projects stuffed into giant bills passed without scrutiny or debate.
This is what passes for business as usual in Congress today. It is the way Washington has done business for generations, under majorities Republican and Democratic alike.
This year, under the Obama administration and a Democratic Congress, things have gotten out of hand. Beginning with the trillion-dollar "stimulus," a number of massive and consequential bills have been rammed through without any member of Congress having read them. These sad spectacles have sparked a public backlash, with millions of Americans demanding that Congress stop the nonsense and "read the bill!"
It's time for Congress to change.
Did the Republican Party miss an opportunity to do away with these broken congressional rituals when it held the majority in Congress? Yes.
As a result of the 1994 Contract with America, which I helped write, important reforms were implemented, such as subjecting the House to audits by a private independent auditor, requiring Congress to live under the same laws as the rest of America and banning the practice of "proxy voting" or "ghost voting" by lawmakers who hadn't actually shown up to vote at all. These were meaningful changes, but unfortunately, things stagnated, and Republicans were subsequently turned out of office.
This is why every day I challenge my Republican colleagues to consider one simple question: If we suddenly found ourselves back in the majority tomorrow, what would we do differently?
When it comes to the issue of congressional transparency, House Republicans are providing a clear answer. We've listened to the American people, and we're united in our support for common-sense changes such as "read the bill" reform that would require all bills to be posted online for a minimum of 72 hours before they are brought to a vote. We also believe:
- Members' committee votes should be posted online within 48 hours so the American people can see how their representatives voted.
- Committees should be required to post the text of adopted bills online within 24 hours of adoption to end the practice of "phantom amendments" being added to bills secretly after they pass at the committee level.
- Major negotiations on sweeping bills that would dramatically expand the reach of the federal government – such as the current government takeover of health care – should be open to the public and subject to a full and honest debate when bills reach the floor.
- Cameras should be allowed in the secretive House Rules Committee, the panel that decides which bills and amendments come to a vote.
These initiatives, which House Republicans will be officially unveiling in the coming days, enjoy bipartisan support at the rank-and-file level, and all stand ready for adoption by the full House.
What's more, 176 Republicans in the House, including me, have already signed a petition circulated by Rep. Greg Walden, R-Oregon, that would force a vote on "read the bill" reform. Only six Democrats have signed the petition to date. Why just six? Because the leaders of the Democratic majority, seeking to protect the status quo and preserve their ability to rush bills through the House without scrutiny, have forbidden their caucus members from signing the petition. They won't even allow a hearing on the matter.
It's past time for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic leaders in Congress to rethink their opposition to these common-sense reforms. Rebuilding trust between the American people and their elected representatives starts with changing Congress itself. Americans deserve a government that is open, transparent and accountable to the people it serves.

Governor Tim Pawlenty already pointed out yesterday that the opt-out for the states is a complete slight-of-hand. The states will be able to opt out of the benefits of a Public Option… little that they are after having had to pay in to the kitty for 4-full years before it goes into effect and then continue paying whether they participate or not. He also said that whether they call it a trigger, co-op, opt-out or find some guts and really say what it is… socialized medicine heading toward a single-payer, it will end up as the later to the detriment of Americans and America.
Dump all the ObamaCare Bills and Start Over With Real Reform!!!!!!!!!!!
The Reality is that this is Smoke and Mirrors… The costs are based on partial or misleading figures. If there were large amounts of money to be saved in Medicare… it would have been done, many expenses have been moved to other bills to “fix” the CBO scoring and hide costs and much of this will not start until years after the programs are funded… and the lies and untruths go on!!

Single Payer System Nightmare… Just Doesn’t Stop
One Day After accusing Republicans of slowing down the process the Senate Finance Committee voted not to post the full Senate (Baucus) Healthcare Reform Bill online for at least a full 72-hours for the public and all Senators to read it before a vote… as they rumbled about how hard they were working and how they would work all day Saturday (9/26/9) and how posting the bill would slow things up… the Senate called it a day, a half-day yesterday (Friday 9/25/09), (for the Jewish Holiday) and now won’t be back until Tuesday from another long weekend…
Does anyone want to yell… stop with the b.s.? Stop with the untruths (lies)? Stop pushing what most people in America don’t want????? People really don’t want to read the Baucus Bill… they want it scrapped.

1. The people wouldn’t understand it. (They think we are stupid)
2. It would take too long to translate into laymen’s language. (This bill could and should have been written so everyone can understand it in the first place)

Solution to the Healthcare Reform…
- Address and Clean Up Fraud in All Areas of Medical Care! – Billions are lost and wasted in fraud each year. Read: Stop Paying the Crooks
- Serious Tort Reform – The lawyers are the winner in Obamacare! Tort Reform is not even being addressed
- Change Intra-State Insurance Laws; allow true competition to sell and purchase insurance across state lines.
- Make Health Insurance Portable.
- Reward Doctors for Results Not Numbers of Procedures.
- Allow the self-employed and small business owners to form private co-ops to purchase health insurance to cut down costs.
7. These changes alone would improve healthcare and save money to cover the uninsured that could be put on a plan that is a subsidiary of Medicare and Medicaid. Government should act as a neutral regulator only… of insurance companies, Big Pharma and the AMA; not be in competition with them. Exclusions due to previous conditions should not be allowed and honest over-sight (which does not happen now) should be maintained and enforced as far as safety, costs and fraud.
8. Natural supplements and alternative or holistic treatments and preventative measures should also be covered and encouraged instead of forced out by Big Pharma and the AMA.
9. “No” centralization of Medical Records! The opportunity for mis-use of that information is too high. The government could incentivize medical groups and doctors to update their records to more modern systems (in-house/in system). Then those records could more easily be sent or hand carried with the patients consent to be shared.
The Obama administration keeps talking about saving money by reforming Medicare and Medicaid. Let them start there and see what the savings really are without cutting funding or pushing costs over to the states.
ObamaCare is or will eventually be socialized medicine, so we need to fight and stop it now. There will be no going back later.
A Govt-Run Co-Op is the same as a Public Option and a Trigger will end up being a Public Option… the Answer has to be No to all!

Senators are negotiating on Senator Max Baucus' ObamaCare 6.0 proposal and it hasn't even been written yet.
Of course, to state the obvious, the fact that they're negotiating on something that hasn't been written means no one has read it yet either.
And, to add even more insult to injury, it’s now clear they have no intention of letting you read it.
You read that right. On an almost straight party-line vote, Democrats in the Senate Finance Committee squashed an amendment by Senator Jim Bunning that would have required Baucus’ ObamaCare bill to be posted on the Internet – for all Americans to read – for 72 hours prior to the Committee voting on it.
Not only that. Bunning’s amendment also called for requiring the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office’s official tally of how much Baucus’ ObamaCare 6.0 will cost the American people and what the real impact will be on health costs to be released before the it was voted on.
It's as plain as the nose on your face.
They're leaving the door wide-open to pass Baucus' ObamaCare 6.0 proposal in the dead of night... under the cover of darkness… without even telling you and other concerned Americans what it will cost and how it will affect your health care.
But what really takes the cake is that even after those shenanigans, some Senate Republicans are still going out of their way to play Let’s-Make-A-Deal on Senator Max Baucus’ ObamaCare 6.0 socialized health care scheme.
They're actually fighting tooth-and-nail, not to stop ObamaCare but to negotiate a so-called compromise on this Obama-Baucus scheme to socialize the nation’s health care system.

ObamaCare 6.0: A Stunning Assault On Liberty.
If the previous versions of government-run ObamaCare made you angry… Senator Max Baucus’ ObamaCare 6.0 is likely to make your blood boil.
Much like its predecessors, the Baucus health care reform plan is chock-full of provisions calling for new government mandates, higher taxes, increased spending and government-dictated, rationed health care.
In fact, it’s so bad that Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl said of Baucus’ plan: “This is a stunning assault on liberty!”
Senator Kyl is right. And, the really sad part is this:
As previously stated, the Baucus bill hasn’t even been written yet, much less read by the Senators who are doing the negotiating.
It’s nothing more than a 200-plus-page shell of ideas to be rammed down the throats of the American people with all deliberate speed... before you and other concerned Americans have the time to find out what hit you.
Senator Lindsay Graham, speaking on FOX News, probably gave the best explanation of what exactly is going on: “[T]he Baucus bill… literally changes everyday… we’re making this up as we go… they’re trying to buy votes… the vision here is to pass something… they don’t give a damn what it is and nobody understands what they’re doing.”
These so-called leaders just don’t get it. Republicans and Democrats are quibbling over what type of government-run health care they believe to be best for you and your family and no one is fighting for the American people.
The American people for months have been sending the message loud and clear that they want no part of ObamaCare, period, regardless of what form it takes. The American people have been telling politicians in Washington that no amount of so-called "compromise" will make Obama’s government-run health care scheme acceptable or palatable.
And yet, one of the only things keeping ObamaCare alive is the fact that some Republicans, under the veil of “negotiations,” are keeping it alive.
It’s time for these politicians to finally get the message. The American people do not want them to “fix” ObamaCare… no more so-called “ObamaCare compromises”… the American people want ObamaCare gone… never to be heard from again.

They Don't Want You To Read The Bill, But Will They Read The Bill?
The Baucus plan, right now, as you read this letter, is rapidly advancing in the Senate – even though the bill hasn’t actually been written and none of the Senators working on it have actually read it.
And, as previously stated, it’s now clear they have no intention of letting you read it either. Here’s what Michael Franc wrote on the Heritage Foundation’s blog, The Foundry:
“During the Senate Finance Committee mark up of the Baucus health bill … Senator Bunning of Kentucky put forth an innovative amendment. This amendment stipulated that before voting on the measure in Committee, legislative language would have to be accessible to the public for 72 hours and that the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) would need to publish an official tally of how much this bill will cost the American people and what the real impact will be on health costs."
Franc continued:
“The amendment failed 11-12 on nearly a party line vote. Senator Blanche Lincoln (AR) was the sole Democrat to support this attempt at transparency. The bottom line: when the committee completes its work on this re-make of one-sixth of our economy, Senators will have voted on a phantom - a bill that does not exist with costs that are unknowable until, that is, the unelected legislative draftsmen write the real bill in some back room on Capitol Hill.” [Emphasis Mine]
Remember what Senator Graham said: “the vision here is to pass something… they don’t give a damn what it is and nobody understands what they’re doing.”
Fortunately, the American people are one step ahead of of our elected officials this time around.
They believe they can work behind closed doors and try to repackage government-run health care and seal it with a nice pretty bow.
But in the end, the American people are on to their game, we won’t be fooled and we can stop them.
No more "negotiating"… no more "compromising"… it’s time to stop ObamaCare once and for all.

Socialized Health Care Delivered Under A Christmas Tree Filled With Pricey Ornaments…
FOX News anchor Neil Cavuto summed up the mad dash to pass government-run health care – and specifically Baucus’ ObamaCare 6.0:
“Christmas may be months away but that ain’t stopping Senators from trying to outdo each other on health care… all sorts of pricey ornaments… 564 amendments… the pace of this is startling.”
Like the alcoholic who swears he will never take another drink, only to succumb to temptation the very next day, politicians in Washington lead us to believe that they got the message loud and clear... they lead us to believe they would stop ObamaCare.
But instead of stopping ObamaCare cold, they rushed to make deals and propose amendments the second Senator Baucus unveiled his proposal.
Even Senator Hatch, while calling for a so-called “bi-partisan solution” to ObamaCare, inadvertently stated the case as to why continued negotiations on ObamaCare are a dangerous thing:
“Everything is geared to try to get us to a single payer system… if they can’t do it automatically… they’ll do it in increments… a one size fits all health care system right out of Washington.”
Simply put, any compromise that is reached… any deal that is negotiated will simply lead us down the road to government-run, rationed health care for all.
Some will try to tell you that negotiation is simply a strategy… that it is perhaps the only way to stop ObamaCare.
But the truth of the matter is, ObamaCare never needs to come out of the Senate Finance Committee… it never has to see the light of day.
Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure for the Senate Finance Committee reads: “Rule 4. Quorums. - (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) one-third of the membership of the committee, including not less than one member of the majority party and one member of the minority party, shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of business.”
That means, at least one Republican Senator on the Finance Committee needs to be in attendance in order to pass any legislation out of committee.
In other words, 10 Republican Senators (Charles Grassley, Orrin Hatch, Olympia Snowe, Jon Kyl, Jim Bunning, Mike Crapo, Pat Roberts, John Ensign, Mike Enzi and John Cornyn) could stop ObamaCare cold right now by simply saying they will not support it under any circumstances.
If those 10 Senators would simply say “no,” and deny Democrats on the Finance Committee a quorum; ObamaCare would be done… finished… it would die in committee... but you won’t hear that on the nightly news.
And yet, instead of finding a way to convince these 10 Republicans to stand firm in their opposition to ObamaCare, we’re told it’s more prudent solution to negotiate and make a deal with the opposition and hopefully cushion the blow of something that never has to happen in the first place.
Only in Washington D.C. does such a thing seem even remotely rational. It’s time to tell these Senate Republicans to get serious about stopping ObamaCare.

Where Have We Seen This Insanity Before?
If this dysfunctional willingness on the part of Republican Senators to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... to "compromise" on a battle that could be won outright... sounds familiar, it should.
It's happened before. It seems like only yesterday that our elected officials tried to ram amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens down the throats of the American people.
Back then, the American people, in resounding numbers (Republicans, Democrats and Independents), told our elected officials to just say "no" to amnesty.
And each time the American people spoke up, our elected officials tried to produce so-called "compromise legislation" ... and they alternately tried to sell it to us or ram it down our throats.
But the American didn't let them get away with it. We all knew that each so-called “compromise” was just as egregious as the first amnesty bill... a few words were changed but every proposal essentially led to amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
Do you remember their very last attempt to sell all of us on so-called "compromise legislation?"
Do you remember seeing that photograph in the paper of that group of Senators uproariously laughing and slapping each other on the back as they emerged from their closed-door negotiations?
It was almost as if, when they emerged from that room, they were really laughing at all of us.
Of course, back then, you took decisive action... you called... you faxed... and together we finally broke the back of those bogus amnesty compromises.
You did it before. You can do it again. Now is the time to show your outrage. Make your voice heard now and we will defeat ObamaCare once and for all.

Catholics Fear ‘Stealth’ Abortion Push in Healthcare... Could Add to Shortages in Government-run Healthcare

With Democrats planning a September vote on a sweeping new healthcare plan, America’s Catholic leadership is becoming increasingly concerned that the legislation will lead to federal funding of abortions.
Though U.S. Catholic bishops have long supported universal healthcare, they now find themselves in the troublesome position of seeing such a program fund abortion.
The implications of government-controlled healthcare would have serious implications for Catholic health institutions. One in eight hospitals in the United States is affiliated with the Catholic Church, according to The Wall Street Journal. They employ 750,000 people and care for 16 percent of all hospital admissions.
If government bureaucrats or the courts mandated abortion coverage, it could place the nation’s Catholic hospitals in a difficult situation. Some Catholic leaders have threatened to close their facilities if they are forced to conduct abortion procedures.
If Democratic healthcare reform becomes law, it will engender a huge expansion of abortion, said Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz.
"You know, one of the side issues that nobody pays any attention to, this healthcare plan will be the largest expansion of abortion in the United States since Roe v. Wade," Franks said on Fox News on Sunday. "Only this time, it will be paid for with taxpayer dollars."
"People don't see that as healthcare," he added.
In late July, Cardinal Justin Rigali, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities, wrote a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee warning that "much-needed reform must not become a vehicle for promoting an 'abortion rights' agenda."
In Massachusetts, the state-run health plan already subsidizes abortions for low and moderate-income women. This has created conflict between Church and state due to the requirement for Catholic hospitals to provide abortion referrals. The mandate flies in the face of Catholic teaching, and the Church hopes to keep this from happening nationwide.
Before the 1977 Hyde Amendment barred Medicaid from paying for abortions, courts and bureaucrats mandated abortion coverage because it was legal and not excluded from Medicaid. This precedent has reinforced Catholic concerns, because the House version of the healthcare reform bill lacks specific language barring abortion coverage.
Rigali's letter took issue with provisions of the bill, asserting that it could lead to federal funding of abortions and thereby violate the spirit of the Hyde Amendment.
“The legislation delegates to the Secretary of Health and Human Services the power to make abortion a basic or essential benefit in all health plans, or in the 'public plan' created by the legislation,” Rigali wrote. “This would be a radical change.”
Rigali also expressed concern that provisions in the bill requiring “timely access to all benefits covered by qualified health plans” could be used by the courts to invalidate state laws regulating abortions, such as those aimed at promoting a woman’s safety and parental notification.
His letter calls for the protection of conscience rights to prevent pro-life healthcare providers from being discriminated against if they decline to be involved with abortions.
The Rev. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, and Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, echo the cardinal’s concerns and contend the healthcare legislation would cover abortions by default.
“This is a stealth FOCA bill,” Pavone said, referring to the Freedom of Choice Act.
That bill would guarantee women the "fundamental right" to "terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability," or to protect the life of the mother. Catholic opposition has prevented it from coming up for a vote this year.
“We know the provisions remain the goals of the abortion advocates, and healthcare reform offers them a good opportunity to put part of it in the bill," Pavone said.
"They may say [the bill] doesn’t mention abortion, but we say that unless abortion is specifically excluded from the bill, it is included.”
Catholics United, a left-leaning Catholic group, contends that the Capps amendment addresses Cardinal Rigali’s concerns and those of other pro-life Catholics. The amendment, which Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif., introduced, passed the House Energy and Commerce Committee on July 30.
Supporters say it would bar the use of federal money to directly fund abortions, while allowing the funding of plans that provide abortions. It also includes a conscience provision that would bar discrimination against health providers who refuse to be involved with abortions, and would prevent state laws regulating abortion from being preempted.
“Capps is as close to a 95 percent abortion-neutral bill as we can get,” said Chris Korzen of Catholics United. “Work still needs to be done on specific parts, but the Capps amendment is still a little ways away from [providing] a true common ground on this issue.”
Donohue and others remain unconvinced that the Capps amendment would prevent federal dollars from being used to fund abortions.
“There is no question that the AP and New York Times are right that it does in fact provide funding for abortion,” Donohue said. “When [Republican Congressman Joe Pitts of Pennsylvania] put the question to counsel asking if it would allow for funding of abortion, he was told it would, so it is not a moot question.”
Passage of a healthcare reform package that angers Catholics could make abortion a huge issue in upcoming elections. Catholics number slightly more than 68 million in the U.S., according to the Official Catholic Directory 2009. They constitute 22 percent of the population, making them a key swing-voting group.

- By the fact that the abortion issue (or any other issue or illness is not addressed means it will be covered under government-run healthcare.
- There will be huge upswing in abortions and you will be paying for those services one way or other… whether you and or anyone in your family are having that procedure and whether or not you and your family believe in choice or are pro-life.
- Pro-life medical practitioners and facilities will forced to perform those procedures whether it is against their convictions and beliefs or not.
- In trying to cover an additional 27 million people without increasing costs and after reducing doctor’s pay, there will be a doctor and medical practitioner shortage. If pro life doctors, nurses and technicians leave medicine the shortage will be unimaginable. People in England and Canada wait years sometime just to get a primary care doctor.
- One in eight hospitals in the United States is affiliated with the Catholic Church. They employ 750,000 people and care for 16 percent of all hospital admissions. Should the Church decided to close those hospitals, if they lose the fight, the medical care shortages in all areas will be insurmountable.

Dick Morris Says Obamacare Will Replace Medicare
Dick Morris is worried that complacency among citizens could result in a disastrous healthcare overhaul costing Americans for generations to come.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Morris was asked if he thinks Democrats will do what Senator Chuck Schumer has alluded to: ram health reform through without any Republican support using a process called “reconciliation.” That requires only a simple majority instead of 60 votes.
“Yeah, I think they’re going to try it. I think there’s no chance that they’ll get 60 votes, there’s no chance of any real Republican support,” Morris said. “They’re going try and jam this thing through, and of course, it will pass the House because they march in lockstep.”

“So it is absolutely crucial for us to be aggressive and active in taking the steps to fight it,” he said.
The key is spreading information about the mammoth healthcare bills, Morris said, and mobilizing the conservative grassroots.
“Newsmax.com has a lot of the information; my website DickMorris.com does as well. We need to run ads in all of the states that swing-state senators live in, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Indiana, Connecticut, whole bunch of those states, and really force those senators to vote as their constituents want.”
“The fact that public opinion is moving against this legislation does not guarantee its defeat, because he (Obama) can still ram this thing through.”
Morris notes that senior citizens will pay the biggest price under the overhaul.
“This healthcare reform proposal really is the repeal of Medicare,” Morris said. “That’s really what it comes down to, because they’re going to provide medical care to 50 million new people without expanding the number of doctors or nurses,” he says.
“You can’t do that; you can’t just write a check for more healthcare, got to have more doctors or more nurses to administer it,” he added. “That means there’s going to be less health care for each person and that will force rationing.”
What will endanger the elderly most, Morris said, is the rationing of heart and hip operations – which comprise the bulk of elder care.
“Rationing involves a decision that is supposedly rational as to who should get care and who doesn’t get it,” Morris explained. “And inevitably that’s going to mean saying no to the elderly, no to people that want hip transplants, no to people that need new knee surgery, or no even to people who have bypass surgery.”
Morris cites the medical care system in Canada as an example of why socialized medicine doesn’t work.
“In Canada, where they have a system like this . . . there is an eight-week wait for cancer radiation: you have cancer, you have to wait eight weeks. There’s an eight month wait for colonoscopies and as a result the incidences of colon cancer in Canada is 25 percent higher than in the United States,” he said. “The top drug we use to treat colon cancer, Avastin, is not permitted in Canada and the result is 41 percent of Canadians who get colon cancer die of it as against only 32 percent in the United States. Sounds horrific, but those are the stakes,” Morris said.
And remember the Dems are set on covering the illegal aliens, meaning a younger illegal will get the treatment before a senior who has paid into the system all their life, if rationing goes into affect.
Since Democrats have enough votes to pass the overhaul without any Republican support, why are they trying to win some GOP votes?
“They’re worried about needing Republican support because they know how unpopular this thing is going to be when it’s adopted and after it’s taken effect, and we’re not just talking about the medical portion, we’re talking about the tax hikes, too,” Morris said. (Probably big tax hikes).
“So they want to be able to say this was a bipartisan bill, don’t blame the Democrats, Republicans put it over the top, too, just like they do with the stimulus package now where they got three Republicans to come on board. But I don’t think the Republicans are going to bite on this one.”

Even if your Senator or Congressman is a liberal Democrat or a Republican, write then anyway. It can influence the atmosphere in Washington. Senators and Congressmen talk and the more mail they get, the more public opinion weighs on them all. Even the ultra-liberals.

(Gibbs says Obama Will Not Read HC Bill)
After President Obama promised last week that he would sit down with any and all Republicans and any other Congresspeople and Senators that wanted to and review the Healthcare Bill line by line, Robert Gibbs said today that President Obama would not read the Healthcare Bill.
Let us hope that he will have to read it multiple times as congressional leaders to to the White House and hold Obama to his word that her would review any of the present bills and final bills with them!!
It is a disgrace and an insult to the American People that anyone would pass sign bills like Cap and Tax, Healthcare Reform and multi billion and trillion dollar Stimulus and Budget Bills without reading them!!!!
