Perspective: New Law - "The Affordable Boat Act" 2014

The Hull Truth –  Stolen from another website - Cross Posted at AskMarion:

The U.S. government has just passed a new law called: "The affordable boat act" declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat, by April 2014. These "affordable" boats will cost an average of $54,000-$155,000 each. This does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs.

This law has been passed, because until now, typically only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able to purchase boats. This new law ensures that every American can now have a "affordable" boat of their own, because everyone is "entitled" to a new boat. If you purchase your boat before the end of the year, you will receive 4 "free" life jackets; not including monthly usage fees.

In order to make sure everyone purchases an affordable boat, the costs of owning a boat will increase on average of 250-400% per year. This way, wealthy people will pay more for something that other people don't want or can't afford to maintain. But to be fair, people who cant afford to maintain their boat will be regularly fined and children (under the age of 26) can use their parents boats to party on until they turn 27; then must purchase their own boat.
If you already have a boat, you can keep yours (just kidding; no you can't). If you don't want or don't need a boat, you are required to buy one anyhow. If you refuse to buy one or cant afford one, you will be regularly fined $800 until you purchase one or face imprisonment.

Failure to use the boat will also result in fines. People living in the desert; ghettos; inner cities or areas with no access to lakes are not exempt. Age, motion sickness, experience, knowledge nor lack of desire are acceptable excuses for not using your boat.

A government review board (that doesn't know the difference between the port, starboard or stern of a boat) will decide everything, including; when, where, how often and for what purposes you can use your boat along with how many people can ride your boat and determine if one is too old or healthy enough to be able to use their boat. They will also decide if your boat has out lived its usefulness or if you must purchase specific accessories,(like a $500 compass) or a newer and more expensive boat.

Those that can afford yachts will be required to do so...its only fair. The government will also decide the name for each boat. Failure to comply with these rules will result in fines and possible imprisonment.

Government officials are exempt from this new law. If they want a boat, they and their families can obtain boats free, at the expense of tax payers. Unions, bankers and mega companies with large political affiliations ($$$) are also exempt.

If the government can force you to buy health care, they can force you to buy a boat....or ANYTHING else..

So Yah...it's that stupid...  and that frightening!!

Paul Ryan Reveals His Plan to Balance the Budget in 10 Years Includes Repealing Obamacare

usnews.com

This week, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) will release the  official Republican budget plan for fiscal year 2014, a ten year plan to balance the budget. On Fox News Sunday, Ryan explained, “The reason we do a balanced budget is not to simply make the numbers add up. It leads to a healthy, growing economy that creates jobs.”

The congressman says Republicans don’t want to reopen the fight over the fiscal cliff and are also proposing pro-growth tax reform. “No more crony politics, stop picking winners and losers, pro-growth tax reform — those things are still achievable and we achieve them in this budget.”

Instead of absolute spending cuts, Ryan is proposing cuts in the rate of growth. He said his plan promotes Medicare reform which includes the repeal of Obamacare. Chris Wallace pointedly asked, “Are you saying that as a part of your budget […] you assume the repeal of Obamacare?”

“Yes,” Ryan simply answered.

“Well, that’s not going to happen,” Wallace said.

“We believe it should. That’s the point. This is what budgeting is all about,” said Ryan. He went to say that they’d replace it with patient-centered health care instead of a “rationing board” system like Obamacare.

Will Republicans in Congress and the president reach a compromise? President Obama had lunch with Republicans including Ryan on Thursday and will go to Capitol Hill next week to meet with Senate Republicans for the first time in almost three years. Ryan blamed the stalemate on President Obama, slamming his plan for raising taxes as one that aims to fuel more spending rather than reducing the deficit. “Tax reform to us is an economic growth generating exercise. Tax reform to the president so far seems to be a spending growth exercise.”

Wallace asked Ryan if he has plans on seeking House speakership or possibly the presidency. Ryan didn’t rule it out but said that until he figures out how to close the budget gap, he won’t be thinking about running for president just yet.

Despite having a positive experience as the GOP vice presidential candidate, he said, “I’ve always believed a better place for me is in policy leadership, like being a chairman. […] I shouldn’t be clouding my judgment today by thinking about some political thing four years from now.”  See video HERE

Marco Rubio On Board With Paul Ryan’s Aim to Defund ObamaCare

Fox News: Florida Senator Marco Rubio reacted to the Obama administration ending White House tours and blaming it on the sequester. “This is just the beginning,” Rubio told Sean Hannity. “Every single day you’re going to see the best known national parks close down, you know, airports being targeted. They’re going to try to make this as painful as possible because they’re trying to make a political point.”

He pointed out that many families have already had to cut back on their own budgets. “I think they’d be shocked to hear a bunch of politicians bellyaching over a two to three percent across the board reduction in spending, when in the real world people have seen massive reductions in their own home budgets and in their businesses.”

CBO raises estimate of those hit by Obama health care tax & Obamacare in Disarray

CBO raises estimate of those hit by Obama health care tax

"Congress‘ official scorekeeper said Wednesday that 30 million people will be uninsured when President Obama’s health care law goes fully into effect, including six million Americans who are expected to pay a tax penalty — about two million more than originally forecast when the law was passed in 2010..."  Read More Here

The Emerging Obamacare Truth Is Disarray

"The temporary "high risk" pools that Obamacare created, to provide a way for those with pre-existing health conditions to get insurance immediately, are undersubscribed yet way over budget. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the $5 billion allocated to these pools could enroll 200,000 consumers. They envisioned enrollment growing to more than 400,000. But only 77,877 have signed up as of July, yet the program is way over its budget. More than a quarter of these state-based risk pools are short on cash.

· The CLASS Act, which was supposed to provide consumers government-financed long-term care insurance has been abandoned, blowing an $86 billion dollar hole in Obamacare's cost estimates. The CLASS Act was never financially viable. Its costs would have outstripped revenue as soon as it was in full operation. But since it took in money five years before it started to pay out benefits, budget gimmickry let Mr. Obama capture that revenue and use it to finance Obamacare. In abandoning the measure, the President's own health secretary called the scheme "unsustainable."

· The crown jewel of Obamacare's effort to contain healthcare costs, the creation of Accountable Care Organizations, is so unwieldy that major provider groups have said they won't participate. The idea is to consolidate doctors, turning them into employees of large systems, and then pay these systems lump sums of money to take care of groups of patients. A letter from 10 major medical groups that previously ran similar programs said, "it would be difficult, if not impossible" to accept the financial design created by Obamacare. In another rebuke, an umbrella group representing premier medical organizations said 90 percent of its members wouldn't partake.

· New regulations Obamacare puts on insurers have been so unworkable that the Obama team has had to dole out 1,231 waivers. These exemptions are granted when the Obamacare rules are projected to raise healthcare premiums more than 10 percent, or create a "significant decrease in access to healthcare benefits." These waivers haven't been doled out consistently. Entities winning the preferences are over-represented by plans offered by unionized businesses and other administration allies.

· Obamacare can't even settle on an affordable definition to the term "affordable" -- creating the prospect that millions of middle class families will get priced out of coverage. According to a recent editorial in the New York Times, "the people left in the lurch would be those who had lower incomes but were not poor enough to qualify for Medicaid." Because of the way Obamacare defines what's "affordable" to these families, many working-class people would be unable to afford family coverage offered by their employers, and yet they would not qualify for subsidies provided by the law..."  Read More Here

Six million will pay health law penalty: study

"The CBO on Wednesday said the penalty of $695 or 2.5% of household income under the law formally known as the Affordable Care Act increases the number of those facing the penalty than originally was projected in April 2010, shortly after the law’s passage. The law contains an individual mandate requiring all Americans to have insurance or pay a penalty.

Now, 2 million more people will be penalized and pay an additional $3 billion in fines than originally projected, according to the report, conducted by the CBO along with the Joint Committee on Taxation." Read More Here

Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare law (ObamaCare)

mandate 2

For any one who hasn’t heard… this is a critical win!!

Every GOP Candidate in the debate last night has the full repeal at or near the top of their agenda for their first day office as President of the United States.

Appeals Court Rules Obamacare Unconstitutional!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An appeals court ruled Friday that President Barack Obama's healthcare law requiring Americans to buy healthcare insurance or face a penalty was unconstitutional, a blow to the White House.

The Appeals Court for the 11th Circuit, based in Atlanta, found that Congress exceeded its authority by requiring Americans to buy coverage, but also ruled that the rest of the wide-ranging law could remain in effect.

The legality of the so-called individual mandate, a cornerstone of the 2010 healthcare law, is widely expected to be decided by the Supreme Court. The Obama administration has defended the provision as constitutional.

The case stems from a challenge by 26 U.S. states which had argued the individual mandate, set to go into effect in 2014, was unconstitutional because Congress could not force Americans to buy health insurance or face the prospect of a penalty.

"This economic mandate represents a wholly novel and potentially unbounded assertion of congressional authority: the ability to compel Americans to purchase an expensive health insurance product they have elected not to buy, and to make them re-purchase that insurance product every month for their entire lives," a divided three-judge panel said.

Obama and his administration had pressed for the law to help halt the steep increases in healthcare costs and expand insurance coverage to the more than 30 million Americans who are without it.

It argued that the requirement was legal under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. One of the three judges of the appeals court panel, Stanley Marcus, agreed with the administration in dissenting from the majority opinion.

The majority "has ignored the undeniable fact that Congress' commerce power has grown exponentially over the past two centuries and is now generally accepted as having afforded Congress the authority to create rules regulating large areas of our national economy," Marcus wrote.

Many other provisions of the healthcare law are already being implemented.

The decision contrasts with one by the U.S. Appeals Court for the 6th Circuit, based in Cincinnati, which had upheld the individual mandate as constitutional. That case has already been appealed to the Supreme Court.

The Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, based in Richmond, has yet to rule on a separate challenge by the state of Virginia.
